Welcome to FLIXGUIDE's tips and tricks section, where you will learn things you never new Netflix could do, as well as basics for beginners.
Kick friends off your account
One of the great things about Netflix is that one account can be shared amongst up to five of your friends, and it’s actually encouraged. But, the catch is that only two people can watch Netflix at once (unless you upgrade to a more expensive premium account which allows four). There is nothing worse than coming back from a long day at work, consulting FlixGuide for what to watch (ha), and then being told by Netflix that your account is already in use.
And not just that, but life happens. Friends part ways and couples break up. In this modern age of streaming, the chances are, they’ll still be connected to your Netflix account, being a constant reminder of things that were, things that could’ve been and the fact that you’re paying £7.99 a month for them to watch Ru Paul’s Drag Race.
If you feel like showing your dominance, simply go to Settings > Account > Sign out all devices. Then, change your password and Voila! You have the smug satisfaction of knowing your account is your own again and they’ll need to pay their own way.
Add new users
But maybe you’re in more of a benevolent mood, and fancy sharing your account with different users. Or, maybe you’re just sick of your family members’ recommendations clogging up your homepage? Netflix has a feature that allows different profiles on one account, with totally separate recommendations watch histories.
All you need to do to add more profiles is click on your name on the top right, then go to Account > Manage Profiles > Add Profile.
Now, your Netflix can be shared amongst people with completely different tastes in film in TV.
Request titles from Netflix

FlixGuide is here to help you choose from a vast array of Netflix originals, but what happens when there’s a particular title you really want to watch, but it isn’t available to stream? We all know the pain first hand.
But don’t worry, I’m here to solve your problem!
Netflix has a feature that allows users to request any TV show or movie to be added to its catalogue. You can only recommend three at a time, but if you’re feeling really persistent, you can do it again and again. Sure, this is no guarantee that Netflix will add it to their catalogue, but if they do, they will send you an email to let you know, as well as emails with what they think you might like.
You know what they say: if you don’t ask, you don’t get.
Add critic ratings, IMDB links etc

It’s no secret that Netflix’s rating system is confusing, and pretty pointless. Even as someone who spends most of their spare time on Netflix, seeing that a film is an 81% match for me means absolutely nothing.
If you let film critics dictate your choice on what to watch, and want to make your Netflix homepage more comprehensive, then you can download the Netflix Enhancer.
This is a handy little tool that adds a lot to your Netflix, and you’ll end up wondering how you ever coped without it.
